War-torn country

The war in Viet Nam, unlike previous conflicts entered by America, provoked a bitter, emotional debate that divided the nation. Wayne’s traditional faith in God and country would have seemed out of place, but he remained firm in his convictions. Moreover, he was not content to stand idle while the American flag was being ripped to shreds. His reaction was in the form of another war picture, this time set in the battlefields of Viet Nam. In 1967, after visiting that war-torn country, he decided to make a film, entitled The Green Berets, about the exploits of the Special Forces. At 62 years he was to play a Green Beret, but Wayne did not mind.

Hitler was strong, which is why people were so quick to accept him and more importantly, accept what he had to say. He was seen as a strong arm in a country that had been crippled. The people of Germany looked to him for both strength and to be their voice to the world. This did not come by accident, though. Before the Nazi party actually came under control of Germany, Hitler and his top advisors spent a lot of time speaking to people. An important thing to note is that their message was a consistent one. They did not waiver on how they presented their party to the general public.
