Adolf Gitler

Hitler was strong, which is why people were so quick to accept him and more importantly, accept what he had to say. He was seen as a strong arm in a country that had been crippled. The people of Germany looked to him for both strength and to be their voice to the world. This did not come by accident, though. Before the Nazi party actually came under control of Germany, Hitler and his top advisors spent a lot of time speaking to people. An important thing to note is that their message was a consistent one. They did not waiver on how they presented their party to the general public.

In every way, Hitler was stern and firm. He looked the part, he spoke the part, and he acted the part. He was tall, had dark hair, and worked his characteristic mustache. Though it seems like a small thing, this was another sign of strength that the German people clung to in the time following World War I. His words had little doubt in them. The mission was always presented to people in a way that they could understand. Though he would eventually turn himself into a mad man, Hitler began his political career as something of an everyman in Germany  hardening of the bones.

Even if he wasn’t a clear representation of how the people of Germany were, he was a look at what they all hoped to be. He was the solution that would give them back everything that they had lost during the conflict in World War I. More importantly than that, Adolf Hitler was the man who would not allow it to happen again, under any circumstances. Though Hitler’s strong public speaking skills were the most important factor in creating the right climate for a dictatorship, his message was equally important.

Though many historians know that Hitler was a brilliant military strategist, they forget that he was also a very effective politician. He took advantage of the political climate, but no one could accuse him of changing his message to fit the people. He was not a suck-up in this way. Instead, he took his message and molded it to include what the people both wanted to hear and more importantly, what they needed to hear. Germany was a torn country, both because of the Civil War and because of the economic situation.

While other politicians spent their precious time dividing the country and tearing their opponents apart, Hitler did his best, at least in speeches, to bring the country together. This was the clear mission of the Nazi party. They were the group that was going to return Germany to what it had been before. In order to do this, they had to re-unite it under common goals and under common thinking. Though Hitler would wait to try to influence the thinking of the German people, he wasted little time letting them know what the common German goals and ideals would be.

In addition to his message of togetherness, everything about Adolf Hitler spoke to his strength. He was not satisfied with just being the face of strength, either. He wanted to make sure that he took Germany with him. If they were to return to their rightful place as a world power, they were going to have to show power in every way. The most important thing that Hitler did was get his people to understand this. Once they figured out that a show of strength was the quickest and most effective way to return to power, they cowered under Hitler’s influence and elected him to be the leader of their nation.

This fact is shown clearly by what transpired in the election that saw Hitler take office. Judging only by those events, one can see what kind of strong, feisty mood the country was in. Mass fighting took place in what would later become known as election brawls. According to the information provided at ThinkQuest, thirty-two people were killed during these events (ThinkQuest. com). He attracted people that would become known as “Brownshirts”, which were, in effect, jobless men in the country. These men were drawn to Hitler’s strength and it gave them a sense of meaning.

In a way, the reasons why Hitler was able to take power in Germany had much to do with how he connected with people in his speaking. While he connected to the “Brownshirts” with his strength, he connected with other people in the country through his commitment, while others were attracted to his charisma. He was a leader that had something to offer for just about anyone that was looking at the time. Hitler was also seen as being very dedicated. Some leaders have great oratory skills, but Hitler took this to a new extreme.

In addition to being able to speak well to his people, he made a decision to speak to just about all of his people. In a way, this was very important because it showed his broad dedication to bringing the country back together. The Nazi party was not one that was made up of fools, so they took this into account when they made plans for Hitler’s campaign. While his competitors spent their time lobbying and campaigning to choice groups of people, Hitler got out in the country and made his way to a number of rallies. In his speeches, there existed a measure of both power and compassion.
